Geography of China
Climate - China's climate varies from bitter cold in winter to unbearable heat in summer.
Natural Environment - The environment in the Republic of China has traditionally been neglected as the country concentrates on its rise as an economic power. Pollution has made cancer the leading cause of death in 30 cities and 78 counties, the Ministry of Health says. Only 1 percent of the country’s 560 million city inhabitants breathe air safe by the European Union.
Population - 1,331,460,000.
Industry - Industry produced 53.7% of the People's Republic of China’s gross domestic product. Industry (including mining, manufacturing, construction, and power) contributed 46.8% of GDP in 2010 and occupied 27 percent of the workforce in 2007.
Exports - China's exports jumped by 46% in February compared with a year ago, raising hopes of a strong recovery in global trade. The increase was higher than analysts' expectations of a rise of between 35% and 40%.
